DETRENDED FLUCTUATION ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC RHYTHM IN JOB-RELATED MENTAL STRESS

ABSTRACT

In general population, mental stress increases cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) has been proposed as a potentially useful method to determine the signs of cardiovascular disease. Medical personnel, healthy subjects, and ill subjects can all benefit from an analysis of cardiac rythm in job-related mental stress. Results from this study describe that all of the senior administrators and the middle administrators of the university have low scaling exponent and most of them confirmed to be experiencing stress, in contrast are the professors who exhibited an exponent of 1 and believe that they have a enjoyable life every day.
